As a young consumer of EVERYTHING, I can clearly remember being annoyed and somewhat put out when I first saw Baraka back in 1992. Over the years I’ve come to understand that it was and is an amazing film.
In my opinion, it never really got the attention it deserved… hence this revisit. Baraka feels highly relevant today and I reckon will become more relevant as we continue to pour oil everywhere and blame others.
Ron Fricke shot the film at 152 location across 24 countries including: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Nepal, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States.
A truly global film.
